Unconditional love is much more rare than you think.
Being unconditionally in love means loving someone even if they don’t love you back. It is accepting their flaws and being okay with them not accepting yours.
It’s to love someone who isn’t your physical type, and to keep loving your “type” even if their looks change suddenly. Unconditional love is to see through the bodies and faces and bank accounts; and to brush off the neglect and bullying and bad jokes. It’s to love them for their soul, independent of its temporary custodian (the body).
If you think that’s bad, get this: unconditional love and heartbreak are not mutually exclusive. Meaning that even if you love someone fully, wholeheartedly, and “unconditionally”; you are still very much subject to their betrayal and lack of attention and you will likely suffer from heartbreak as a result.
