and why i loved having a job
I mistakenly followed the path of the likes of Paul Skallas and the Bowtied guys who have somehow managed to convince me that the main goal in life is to be financially free and that would inevitably mean not having a job. They convinced me that in order to retain freedom I must hoard more and more assets until I’m in a state of not needing to work. I was led to believe that in order to reach higher realms in life I must work for myself and make money in any way that I can.
They disregard the community that comes with having a normal job. They don’t take into consideration that if, let’s say, I managed to live off interest from a lump sum I made from a lucky crypto trade, that my options of choosing to work later on in life would stagnate significantly. They didn’t tell me that with that financial freedom I’m unable to purchase work experience. I’m not talking internet income that is lucrative in nature but, quite honestly, very depressing and highly unfulfilling.
